The annual Wimborne Pancake Race took place on Shrove Tuesday. It was the 14th time the event has happened following an absence of 16 years.
The race started at the North Porch of Wimborne Minster as the Pancake Bell tolled. Competitors dashed off with their frying pans and ready-cooked pancakes to compete for The Old Bakehouse Café Perpetual Challenge Cup and to try and become the Minster Pancake Champion 2012.
Plenty of people tuned out to watch friends and family as they sprinted around Wimborne Minster. There was a separate race for school children and Ken Holloway presented a prize of £25 to the first under18.
