The Purbeck Heritage Network is seeking more individuals and organisations that have a passion for the district’s heritage.
The Network gives people from all walks of life the opportunity to get involved. It enables them to talk, share ideas and learn from each other to progress their own projects.
Members range from national organisations to interested individuals. A variety of organisations and interests are represented, from tourism, trade, railways and councils to wildlife and cycling.
Chair of the Network, Professor Vincent May, said: “A good cross-section of organisations is already involved in the Network but we’re looking for more representatives of the diverse range of projects that are taking place around Purbeck.
“The Network enables members to exchange ideas with people they would not normally come across. For example, those with experience of obtaining grants from particular sources can share tips on how to best go about this!”
It is free to join and as well as being invited to attend meetings, members will receive regular e-newsletters.
The Purbeck Heritage Network succeeded the Purbeck Heritage Committee which was a formal body of representatives from local councils, conservation and tourism organisations and land owners. The Purbeck Heritage Network has a less formal structure and is open to all members of the community.
